A Wrong Turn and New Friends

As I walked near El Vedado I took a wrong turn two blocks from my destination. The door to one of the first houses on my left was open and I peered inside. The family was doing some cleaning, rearranging furniture and busy with other things.

The owner saw me, came to the front door and greeted me like a lost friend. Then the wife joined us and was just as friendly. She felt badly for she didn't have any coffee, or anything at all, to offer due to the Special Period. They were all curious about me.. who I was and where I came from? Why the cameras on my shoulders? To them I was the first tourist they ever met.
