Vicolo Stretto Ristorante in Taormina Sicilia

manuello paganelli August 29, 2017

If you travel to Taormina in Sicily then Vicolo Stretto Ristorante is a fantastic place to dine. The restaurant is a Michelin star paradise for food lovers and you will be welcome by its warm and charismatic chef owner Massimo. He may surprise you with a nice glass of Sicilian wine, prosecco or a exquisite appetizer.

Just like Massimo the staff was very friendly and on top of everything, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was like an old Hollywood movie with its refine taste.

For any sea food or meat lovers this place will get your attention fast. Everything is made as if you were at home with your parents, fresh and tasty and so is the various sauce use on the pasta or the main courses. From the outdoors patio where we were sitting we clearly could see Mt Etna in the background. By the time we were with our 2nd course we were quite full. I would give you some recommendations of dishes to order but honestly everything was impeccable.

To find the place may require a good map, GPS or a few questions along the way. The stairs to climb up are very narrow so you will need a little maneuvering. From several locals I spoke with we were told that it was perhaps the best restaurant in Taormina and after we left I could not agree more. I can't wait to return to Vicolo Stretto again and see my new friend chef Massimo.

Dalla terrazza all'aperto dove eravamo seduti
Massimo.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!! To all the mothers who formed us inside their bodies, nurtured and gave us unconditional love with an embrace of compassion. To those sacred women who carried us in their arms, their chest and their shoulders until we finally took our first step and from there on taught us to take the right path while skipping the wrong one. To all mums, and those who are no longer among us, who showed us how to smile, how to care and how to forgive… who gave us the foundation of who we are today. To all those hard working mothers who, from sunrise to sunset bruised their hands and crushed their bodies doing hard labor so a hot supper was on the table. Nobody makes more sacrifices for a family like a mother does. A true MOTHER doesn’t need an audience or a front row seat at all for the people who matter the most are right at home. To all mums around the globe, the stronger and bravest creature of them all, who each day carry the weight of the world on their backs. So today, tomorrow and the day after let’s celebrate and honor ALL of them instead of waiting until is too late. Like a silent marching army of ghost the fog arrived and engulfed the small piece off flat land where the Native American shepherd and his wife live with their two daughters. He was a bit anxious and tossed his weary eyes upwards hoping to see a crack in the sky so the sun could find its way through it and dry the thin mist. Without a clear path to the Andes’ peaks, it would be a difficult and dangerous task for the man and his wife to bring their alpacas to graze. The flock instinctively understood the precarious situation, but with a loud whistle from the lips of their master, in unison, they took off as he fronted the way while his wife brought up the rear. It was a matter of time for the sun to show his face and after that it became easier and the working team was back to sprinting, running out of breath, chasing and jumping after the animals.
